NEST Exam 2025: Dates, Registration Process, & Eligibility!

The notification for the NEST Exam 2025 has already been rolled out with important dates, the exam pattern, the syllabus, and other information. The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) is a computer-based exam held across 140 cities in India. It is an entrance exam for colleges like the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and the Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (CEBS) under the University of Mumbai. These institutions were established directly by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, and will have 200 and 57 seats, respectively, in 2025. Registration Process for NEST Exam 2025 

Here’s a step-by-step guide for your NEST exam registration in 2025. 

Step 1: Visit the official website for the NEST exam 2025 by navigating through this link. 

Step 2: Head to “New Registration” to sign up for your NEST Exam 2025 application once it’s activated on 17th Feb 2025. Here, you typically have to provide your name, phone number, email address, password, and security captcha to register yourself for the exam.  

Step 3: Once you are registered, use your login credentials, like your user ID and password, to log in to your account and proceed with filling out the NEST application form. 

Step 4: When the NEST exam 2025 application form window opens, make sure you put all necessary details, like your age, date of birth, residential location, gender, category, last academic qualification and marks, choice of exam centre, etc.  

Step 5: Now, you must upload requisite documents like your photograph, signature, category certificate (if applicable), marks sheets, and others. Remember to upload the documents only in the mentioned format and size.   

Step 6: Next, you will be directed to the application fee payment portal. Choose your preferred payment mode and go ahead paying for your NEST exam 2025 as asked! Make sure you keep the payment receipt for future reference. 

NEST Exam 2025 Application Fee: 

1. Female and Specially-Abled Category Applicants – Rs.700

2. Reserved Category (SC/ST/PWD) Male Applicants – Rs. 700

3. General and OBC Male Applicants – Rs. 1400

Eligibility Criteria for NEST Exam 2025

The NEST Exam 2025 has two eligibility criteria and here they go! 

1. The aspiring candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam or equivalent in 2023 or 2024 or must be appearing for their 10+2 examination in 2025. 

2. The applicant must have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their 10+2 examination. Here, a relaxation of 5% is given to SC/ST/Divyangjan applicants.   

Please Note: For admission to NISER or UM-DAE CEBS, you also need to secure a rank in the NEST 2025 merit list.
