Overview of the BITSAT Exam

The BITSAT Exam is organized by BITS (Birla Institute of Technology and Science) for admissions into bachelor’s programmes at their Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. BITSAT is an entrance exam for admissions into various courses at the institute. It is a 3-hour-long computer-based exam conducted by BITS Pilani across 62 centres in the country. 

BITSAT Exam is an MCQ-based exam, consisting of 150 Questions across 4 sections, viz. Physics, Chemistry, English & Logical Reasoning, and Mathematics or Science, have 30, 30, 30 and 40 questions each, respectively. Other than this, the paper consists of 12 bonus questions for students who complete their exams before the standard time. The total marks for the BITSAT Exam are 390. The marking scheme of the exam is +3 for every correct answer, -1 for every wrong answer, and 0 for unattempted questions.

Eligibility For the BITSAT 2025 Exam

To get admission to BITS Pilani or other BITS campuses, eligibility for the candidates applying for the BITSAT exam 2025 are:

1. Must have passed class XII examinations in 2024, or must be appearing for the 2025 class 12th examination.

2. Must not have cleared their 12th board exam in 2023 or before.

3. Must have scored at least an aggregate of 75% marks in PCM/PCB, with at least 60% marks in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.

4. If a candidate has made multiple attempts in the qualifying examination, only the latest performance will be considered, provided that attempt includes the full set of prescribed subjects/courses.

5. Candidates must possess a sufficient level of proficiency in English.

Important Dates for BITSAT 2025:

Session I: May 26, 2025 – May 30, 2025

Session II: June 22, 2025 – June 26, 2025

Slot I: 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Slot II: 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM

Application procedure for the BITSAT 2025 Exam:

1. The applications for the BITSAT 2025 exam began, on 21st January 2025, with the last date to apply being April 18, 2025.

2. Candidates can choose to apply for Session I, II or both.

Steps to register for the exam:

Step 1: Visit the official website BITSAT Website, and click on “Click here to Register”.

Step 2: Read full instructions, and click on “Register” to proceed with your application.

Step 3: Enter all the required information in the form, such as Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile number, and Email address, and Generate OTP

Step 4: Click on "Submit".

Step 5: In the next window, enter the OTP you receive to validate your application.

Step 6: Check the declaration box and click on “Reverify”.

Step 7: Enter the security verification captcha and click on “Verify”.

Step 8: After you get your application number and login credentials in your mail inbox, log in on the BITSAT Login Page.

Step 9: Here, Go to Application, and fill in the remaining personal information.

Step 10: Select your preferred session, either or both and choice of exam centre.

Step 11: After uploading your passport-size photo and signatures, pay your application fee and upon checking the declaration form, Click on "Submit Application".
