In the many ways to secure a successful career, an MBA is a rising choice amongst students and working professionals alike. GMAT Exam: Overview & Exam Pattern
The GMAT (Graduate Management Assessment Test) is conducted throughout the year by the Graduate Management Assessment Council for admission to full-time and part-time MBA courses worldwide in selected participating universities (mentioned below). Candidates can take the GMAT exam up to five times in a calendar year and eight times in a lifetime. It is conducted in online mode.
Exam Pattern:
1. The GMAT exam consists of 64 questions divided into 4 sections, viz., quantitative, verbal, integrated reasoning, and the analytical writing assessment section.
2. The total marks that a candidate can score range between 200 and 700, but selection in any particular university is based on the cut-off finalized by that university.
3. The exam duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

1. Quantitative Reasoning: Data sufficiency, Problem-solving
2. Integrated Reasoning: Two-part analysis, Multi-Source reasoning, Table analysis, Graphic Interpretation
3. Verbal Reasoning: Critical reasoning, Reading comprehension, Sentence correction
4. Analytical writing assessment: Analysis of Argument
GMAT Exam Eligibility Criteria
1. Applications for the GMAT exam are accepted from worldwide, i.e., both foreign and Indian candidates.
2. The applying candidate must be a graduate of any university or college.
3. The GMAT test application is free of any dependency on marks obtained during graduation.
4. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older, and if they are not, they require a written NOC from their legal guardian.
5. At the time of the GMAT exam, the candidate must hold a valid passport.

Q. What are the documents required for application to the GMAT exam?
A. The candidates applying for the GMAT test must upload a valid ID proof issued by the government of their respective country, a valid passport, copies of academic transcripts/certificates of completion of graduation, a digital copy of a recent passport-size photo, Information related to the selected mode of fee payment, active contact number and email id to receive notifications timely, and additional documentation as requested by the specific university.
Q. I have not attended English-medium school, college, or university, can I apply for the GMAT test?
A. Yes, there are no such criteria that stop candidates from non-English medium academic backgrounds from applying to the GMAT exam. However, considering the GMAT test is meant to be taken in English only, a basic level of comprehension, and ability to understand complex and twisted exam questions in English is expected.
Q. How many times can I take the GMAT Test?
A. As per rules directed by the Graduate Management Assessment Council (GMAC), a candidate can appear for the GMAT exam up to 5 times a year, and a total of 8 times in a lifetime. However, the candidates must wait for 16 days before applying for a retake exam consecutively.
