About GATE -
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, or in short, GATE is an entrance test to pursue various post-graduate or doctoral academic degrees in the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) across the country and or IISC (Indian Institute of Science), Bangalore. Another purpose of the exam is to offer employment opportunities in the Public Sector Undertakings (PSU). It’s a national-level exam conducted by one of the IITs every year. For GATE 2025, the conducting body is IIT Roorkee, and the mode of examination will be online. GATE is a 3-hour examination where the score validity lasts for 3 years.

GATE 2025 Registration Process
As the registration process for GATE 2025 is already underway, here’s a quick step-by-step guide for your registration.
Step 1: Visit the official portal for GATE Application via www.goaps.iitr.ac.in.
Step 2: Here, you have to register using your active phone number and email address and fetch a registration number and password for filling out the entire registration form.
Step 3: Once you have your unique registration number and password, go to the GATE application portal and log in using the stipulated credentials.
Step 4: Now, you have to start providing information, such as your age, date of birth, residential address, parent’s or guardian’s name, category, gender, last educational qualification, and so forth.
Step 5: After filling out the registration form, you will be asked to upload scanned documents in a defined format and size. Make sure you follow that!
In this step, the types of documents usually asked for are – Identity & Address Proof, Photograph, Signature, Educational Certificates, Category Certificate (if applicable), etc.
Step 6: Then, in the final step, you have to make the fee payment, as stipulated, through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or other specified options.
That’s it! You shall soon receive a message and email regarding your successful registration, including your submitted application form. Download and keep that safe for later use.
GATE Eligibility Criteria
Typically, all Indian citizens are eligible to apply for GATE, even if they reside in an international coin try as an NRI. There’s no age bar or attempt limits for GATE 2025. However, GATE aspirants must fulfil certain educational qualifications to be eligible for the exam, and here they go!
